Biography

Dr. Qayed is Associate Professor at Emory University School of Medicine and a pediatric Blood and Marrow transplant specialist at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. Dr. Qayed’s research interest is focused on the translational application of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells for the prevention and treatment of Graft Versus Host disease. She has been the Director of the Emory Personalized Immunotherapy Core since 2016. She helps direct the strategic planning, development and operational management of this GMP-compliant cell handling facility located within Emory University hospital. She works with physicians and scientists to facilitate the translation of breakthrough cellular therapies  for use in the clinical settings, through the conduct of First-in-Human early phase clinical trials.
